In answer to your question about what is run in Chicago's daily newspapers, the answer to your question is a loud yes! Anything that is sensationalistic and lurid is played up in the news regardless of the ethnicity of the perpetrators. Right now Mayor Daley is being castigated as a corrupt leader of a political machine lining the pockets of Hispanic, Italian and Irish patronage workers. And, whose fault is it that the majority of people think like I do instead of like Toni and Zora? I notice Toni by-passed Oprah's bash honoring outstanding black women so she could rush over to France and participate as a judge at Cannes film festival honoring a bunch of white independent film makers. And Zora sold her soul to Charlotte Mason, a white patron of the arts who dictated Zora's every move. Before you place certain blacks on a pedestal, you need to put them in the context of their totality.
