Tiger's worshippers think he can do no wrong but I don't think Tiger's opponents would agree that he's a good sport.
I don't watch golf that much but I see the sound "bytes" of Tiger going through his victory gyrations and hear the interviews of him whining and pouting and making excuses when he loses. I wondered if this was just me until I started to pick up a certain innuendo from sports commentators.
Yes, I'm sure Tiger's rivals are jealous of him and I know what they say about nice guys finishing last but I'm old school enough to think that a degree of integrity should characterize an athlete who commands so much adulation. Give me an NBA hoopster or NFL gridder any day. These brothas never have a problem with acknowledging that their opponents "kicked ass" when they win a game. |
