@Carey: Oh, no...I wasn't thinking about anything Statutory R. Kelly-related. *Anything* sexual related to celebrities seems to make for good reading, if the popularity of the gossip rags is any indication. See the rise of TMZ. There was a recent celebrity "sex" tape--actor and actress (married), and another woman, naked in a hot tub. Folks called it a sex tape, even though there was no sex. Americans, for all our trashiness, are still, to some degree, prudish and/or repressed. So we find the slightest hint of sex titillating. As for telling your girlfriend about your man's prowess...let me tell you who schooled me about that. Two people, actually. First, there was a woman I met who was in her 60s at the time, and she and her husband were friends with this other similarly-aged couple. She didn't really like the other wife, but she tolerated her and her tales of how great her sex life was, despite her husband's advanced age. So, this woman decided to be a bit devious--called the other woman's husband up, and just invited him to do the deed. His ego couldn't resist. Needless to say, his wife was writing checks that his "friend" couldn't cash... Second, my fiance...his ex had a habit of telling her girlfriends about their sex life, but then got mad when someone she thought was a friend propositioned him. Most women I know like to gab about their exes (the hits and the misses), not the current squeeze, lol. What on earth does any of this have to do with Ted Kennedy!! Only on AALBC... |
